My name is Nate Hendley and I am a Toronto-based freelance journalist and author available for writing and research assignments. I also do book-based presentations.
I was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1966 but was raised in Canada. I grew up in Waterloo, Ontario and studied at Trent University and Conestoga College.
I have researched and written articles about the aerospace industry for investinontario.com, a Government of Ontario website. My articles included features on L-3 Wescam, commercial drones, Lockheed Martin’s IMPACT Centre and Indal Technologies.
I am a regular contributor to Business in Focus magazine and sister publication, Construction in Focus. I have written dozens of profiles of U.S. and Canadian companies and communities for these periodicals.
For over a decade, I have been writing for Canadian Metalworking, a trade publication covering manufacturing and machine shops. I have put together sector reports about Canada’s aerospace, transportation and medical devices industries and written about job shops, industrial robots and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Other trade magazines I have written for include Canadian Grocer, Canadian Printer and On-Site (a magazine about the construction industry).
I am also a published author who has written over a dozen books, primarily in the true-crime genre. My latest book, about the largely forgotten 1956 wrongful murder conviction of 14-year Ron Moffatt of Toronto, was published in August 2018.
I manage a blog at http://crimestory.wordpress.com/ about crime issues.
